Test line for railway wheels


Railway wheels, which come out of the processing area, are loaded into the various testing machines or into buffer spaces.

Defective wheels coming from the processing line are placed on a discharge station.
At the end of the test line, the wheels are placed on an AGV after marking and labeling.
Defective wheels identified by the test area are picked up by a shuttle. For each wheel there is a clearly defined type information as well as a unique wheel ID. The interface to the upstream machine line is via a PN / PN coupler. This interface is used for communication, so that the wheels are transferred from the old system to the new system. Depending on the wheel type, the loader controller searches for the required wheel dimensions in an internal geometry table and is thus able to act on the wheel. The geometry table is designed for 32 wheel types. The loader control has internal data management over all places where a wheel can be. Here, the wheel type, the processing status, the wheel ID and the next destination are stored. The wheel flange of the wheel can be parameterized per seat. In order not to lose the entire data management in case of a defect of the controller, the data management is stored redundantly in a separate PC "Sentinal Core". The loader tells the PC every wheel movement. When replacing the controller, data management can be read back from the PC to the controller.

The job management (which wheel goes from which source to which destination) is done via the loader control.
